DAY 7: BUCHAN BAY  To view a larger image left click on the image once.  To return to the Blog use the back Button or click once off the image   After all those days at sea we were told that we would be making a landfall this evening at Buchan Bay.  This is not shown on the map but is to the left of Gibbs Fjord showing just how far we had travelled in recent days.  But that was for the evening so they filled our day with things to hear about and do. Two talks in the morning, one on underwater archeology which related to the Erebus expedition and another on Seals. There talks were always excellent and well attended. For a change of pace in the afternoon we had the opportunity to tour the ship into parts you normally don't get to see.  Whereas the bridge was usually open to spend time searching the ice flows and the sea for birds and animals the crew explained the details of the bridge operation.   The chart room o...
